This is a pivotal step in enhancing the safety, professionalism, and capability of the logistics workforce in the Sultanate of Oman.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>OLA is a non-governmental, non-profit organization. It works closely with government bodies, industry professionals, and training institutes. The goal is to raise standards and promote excellence. It also supports the Sultanate\u2019s ambition to become a regional and international logistics hub.<\/p>\n<p>The new collaboration includes the development of specialized training programs. These focus on land transportation and road safety. It will provide <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rtitb.com\/om\/services\/accreditations\/\">accreditation for driver training and assessment centers<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The training types covered will include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Heavy Vehicle Driver Training and Assessment<\/li>\n<li>Refrigerated Heavy Vehicle Driver Training<\/li>\n<li>Refuse Collection Vehicle Driver Training and Assessment<\/li>\n<li>School Bus Driver Training<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For RTITB, providing robust, locally relevant training content is at the core of the new partnership. For example, the training for refuse collection vehicle drivers will cover the real challenges encountered by drivers in Oman. Whether that is narrow streets or pedestrian zones in growing cities. The course is designed to provide candidates with the skills necessary to operate refuse collection vehicles safely, efficiently, and confidently, in the real world. It includes knowledge of the vehicles and equipment they will operate, and the all-important pre-use inspections that can help save lives.<\/p>\n<p>For the Heavy Vehicle Training and Assessment initiative, RTITB Middle East has run conducted assessments for Heavy Vehicle instructors for RTITB Accredited Partners, <a href=\"https:\/\/scsoman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/SCS-Profile-2020-E.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Safety Cooperation Services (SCS)<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/ryboahaima.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ryboa Haima<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tatioman.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Technical &amp; Administrative Training Institute (TATI)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>With the new training content, RTITB and OLA will work together to help build confidence. Not only among drivers, but also with employers. Through OLA\u2019s endorsement, companies can be reassured that training is recognized, credible, and aligned with national priorities. This helps improve safety outcomes.<\/p>\n<p>Compliance is a pressing issue. In 2024, Oman recorded over <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rop.gov.om\/english\/statistics.aspx\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">3,000 road traffic accidents<\/a>, with more than 250 fatalities. Many incidents will involve heavy vehicles. Standardizing and improving training and assessment will help drivers better meet both local and international safety standards. Employers can also be confident that their drivers are well prepared for real-world risks. And this makes the roads safer for all.<\/p>\n<p>This collaboration also helps support <a href=\"https:\/\/mem.gov.om\/en-us\/About-Us\/Oman-Vision-2040\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Oman\u2019s Vision 2040<\/a>. It shows investment in human capital, developing the skills of the local workforce. All while building a safer, more efficient logistics sector. It also reflects a shared commitment to reducing road traffic incidents and protecting lives.
