Established more than 50 years ago, DLT’s origins go back to 1968 when the British Road Services set up a training division in Bridgend, South Wales.
DLT Training Ltd began following a management buyout in 1992, and its new training centre opened in June 2009. The quality of the Centre in training terms is second to none, and it provides a wide range of training, testing and other support services aimed at Transport and Logistics, Plant and Construction and other Industrial sectors.

What DLT Training has achieved with Accreditation:
- DLT Training trains on average 760 equipment operators and 26 Instructors on RTITB Accredited courses per year, both at its training centre and on customer sites. Key courses include Counterbalance Lift Truck Operator and Reach Truck Operator, amongst others
- RTITB Accreditation provides a ‘stamp of approval’ giving existing, and potential, customers the assurance that they need
- Operators can obtain a recognised RTITB qualification that they can take with them in their career. Certificates restricted for use only within the customer’s premises are also now available from the verification database
- DLT uses the NORS verification database daily. It is straightforward to use but help is always available from RTITB if needed
RTITB Master Driver CPC Consortium:
- The RTITB Master Driver CPC Consortium makes Driver CPC training simple, easy and cost effective for training providers
- Consortium members have access to engaging training materials on up to date topics, relevant to the industry
- Instructors can easily create, save and download a customised course for clients from the library of training topics and range of delivery methods using the new online portal for members only
- All training is already JAUPT approved, helping save time and money
What DLT Training has achieved with Consortium Membership:
- DLT Training delivers Driver CPC Periodic Training to around 1000 drivers per year on average
- With a library of training materials available, DLT Training has been able to construct its own standardised Driver CPC training suite to offer to customers. Customers know what they are getting and DLT Training’s Instructors are ready to deliver it right away
- The ready-to-go materials provided by RTITB look professional and can be easily supplemented by DLT Training’s Instructors’ own materials (and expertise)
- Where required, DLT Training has worked with RTITB to develop joint branded, JAUPT approved, bespoke courses to meet customer requirements
- All of DLT Training’s customers’ most in-demand topics are available in the library of Consortium training materials, including topics on Driver’s Hours and Safe Loading
RTITB Membership & Training:
- DLT Training has been an RTITB Accredited Partner since 1992 and has trained thousands of Lift Truck Operators on RTITB courses during this time, and has also trained more than 130 Instructors in the past five years alone.
- It has been a member of the RTITB Master Driver CPC Consortium since its inception in 2009 and has trained more than 11,500 drivers in that time.
- Working with RTITB across both sides of the business helps DLT Training streamline its investment and remain competitive with other training providers.
