Q : I ’ve lost my forklift card/certificate, what can I do?

A : If you’ve lost your card or certificate, don’t panic! You’re not alone, we’ve all been there. We’ve got a handy form that you can send into us so that we can find you on our system. Click on the link below to get a copy of the form and either fill it in on the screen and email us a copy or print it and send us a copy by post. Try to give us as much information as you can but don’t worry if you can’t fill in everything – make sure we have a contact telephone number so that we can reach you if we need to check anything.

Unfortunately, if you were trained before 2003, we won’t be able to find you in our system this way. In this case we would recommend contacting your training provider to see if they have record of your training. If not, you will need to attend an existing operator training in order to re-register.

Q : Can I check that a forklift card/certificate is valid?

A : All cards and certificates issued by RTITB from Aug 2018 have a QR code. Use your phone camera to scan the code and search our registration database.

Alternatively, you’ll find a 9-digit NORS registration number on the card/certificate. Click on this link to search for the operator using this number.

If the operator is in our system, their profile will show up. Click on ‘Details’ to view their training information.

All NORS registration numbers are 9-digits in length – if the number on the card/certificate is less than 9 digits, but it says RTITB, save yourself some time and don’t search it, it won’t show up. Give our Standards team a call instead, on 01952 520215.

Q : I can't log into MyRTITB

A : MyRTITB is only available to RTITB accredited partners and Master Driver CPC Consortium members.

Q : My operator qualification has expired. Can I operate?

A : Your qualification won’t expire, it’s for life. But your registration with RTITB will expire, so if you want to renew it, you will need to go on a Refresher course. It’s entirely up to your employer whether they allow you to continue operating once your RTITB registration has expired.

If you want to go on a Refresher course, visit our Course Locator.

Q : How long does it take to receive my forklift operator card / certificate after my course?

A : We will send out your certificate/card within 7 days of receiving an application from your training provider, as long as there are no problems with the application. If you are concerned that you have not received your certificate/card, please call our NORS team directly on +44(0)1952 520209.

Q : Do my forklift certificates belong to me or my employer?

A : An operator qualification belongs to you, not your employer. However, some employers will put training agreements in place that might affect this.

Q : How do I register my forklift instructor qualification?

A : It’s really easy to register your instructor qualification, just fill in this form.

Q : I’m a RTITB registered Instructor, can I deliver RTITB accredited training?

A : No. Accreditation is different to Registration. Accredited training partners are visited by the RTITB team annually to have their systems, facilities and training delivery audited. Additionally, accredited partners are required to register successful trainees on NORS. Instructors can become accredited in their own right, or they can work with accredited partners.

You can find out more about becoming accredited here.

If you don’t want to be accredited, you can still issue a certificate for training you provide, but it must follow this template.

Q : How do I know if my training is RTITB accredited

A : You’ll find a unique 9-digit RTITB registration number on your certificate/card if your training is RTITB accredited. You can check your number by entering it here.

Q : Where can I find my registration number?

A : You should be able to find your 9-digit RTITB number on your certificate/card. If you are unable to locate this number, give the NORS team a call on: +44(0)1952 520209.

Q : My employer won’t accept my RTITB qualification, why not?

A : It is an employer’s responsibility to confirm that their employees have received adequate training. Company policies on training differ, and what individual employers consider suitable will differ also.

The nature of the role/working environment may mean your employer would prefer you to hold a qualification from a different awarding body.

Q : Is my RTITB qualification recognised outside of the UK?

A : RTITB qualifications are widely recognised in the UK, Ireland and Oman. You will also find recognition of our standards and qualifications in most places globally, but ultimately it remains a decision for the employer.

Q : I’m unhappy with training I have received what can I do?

A : We’re always sad to hear when trainees feel that they have not received a satisfactory standard of training. We want to help you, so please get in touch by emailing our Standards Team: standards@rtitb.com
