Out of Hours Assistance

We recognise that there may be occasions where partners need to contact RTITB out of normal trading hours in order to fulfil TrainingFriend App requirements. If you require out of hours TrainingFriend assistance, please take the following steps. Telephone +44(0)7842316722. Leave a voicemail including full details of the nature of assistance required. The TrainingFriend App team will identify, from the information provided in the voicemail, the urgency of the matter. If deemed urgent we will call you back immediately or if deemed non-urgent we will call back at the start of the next working day. Please note if no information is left in the voicemail we will not call back until the start of the next working day.

ABA Categories

In early 2016 the ABA introduced a standardised list of workplace transport equipment categories to aid employers and recruiters in identifying operator qualifications, regardless of issuing body. As a member of the ABA, RTITB have implemented the use of the grouping codes and the table attached confirms which categories these codes cover.

Continuous Professional Development Form

An RTITB registered Instructor can renew any of their operator qualifications on NORS which have expired, using a CPD form – which means that they don’t have to re-train, just provide us with evidence of maintaining professional competence. When an Instructor trains candidates under NORS, they need to be registered on NORS themselves for the machine type. ID card or registration only options are available (see form for pricing).

Course Restrictions List

Restrictions must be used when an operator has received no practical or theoretical instruction in specific elements of the standard Basic Operator’s course. The Course Restrictions List advises of the topics available for restriction.

As an Accredited organisation, your NORS registered operators can be issued with an official RTITB eCertificate/eCard.

As an RTITB Accredited organisation, you may choose to issue your own certification to operators. For consistency and correct specifications, this will need to match our approved template. Email your sample to accreditation_team@rtitb.com to be checked and approved.

NORS registered operators can apply for replacement eCertification/eCard direct from RTITB. Just a reminder: eCards are not available after registration has expired. Non Accredited (non-NORS) Certificate Template

Training that is not uploaded to NORS is not recognised as RTITB accredited training. However, we understand there may be instances where your customers may not ask for this and in these cases, issued certificates must state that the training given was not accredited. Please see a template certificate which shows the information you can include on a non-NORS certificate.

NORS Instructors Operator Qualifications Application

NORS Turnaround Times

Updated monthly this shows the turnaround time of NORS applications for the different options offered. In November 2023, we achieved an average turnaround time of 100% of NORS applications completed within 7 working days, 100% applications within 5 working days, and 100% applications within 3 working days. Any Correct applications not completed within 7 working days are refunded.

RTITB End of Course Feedback Form

Under ABA requirements, RTITB must observe and assess course delivery. This form helps to achieve this and it is to be completed at the conclusion of all RTITB accredited training courses with the total mark uploaded to NORS. This includes the required questions and you must not therefore use your own version in place of this form. A copy should be retained along with the operators training records.
