Telford-based RTITB, a leading accrediting body for workplace transport training and assessment, has proudly achieved Thrive at Work Bronze accreditation, recognising its dedication to its team’s wellbeing.
This award reflects RTITB’s success in meeting 100% of the criteria across four key areas: Enablers of Health, Mental Health, Musculoskeletal Health, and Lifestyles. But for RTITB, this isn’t just about ticking boxes. It’s about living its values and protecting the people at the heart of its safety mission.
“At RTITB, keeping people safe starts with looking after our own team,” says Laura Nelson, Managing Director at RTITB. “Earning the Thrive at Work Bronze accreditation is a great recognition of the culture we’ve built together – one where wellbeing, trust, and personal growth aren’t just encouraged, but truly prioritised. By living our values every day, we can inspire positive change right across the logistics industry.”
Thrive at Work is an initiative from the West Midlands Combined Authority which sets criteria and guidelines for creating a workplace that promotes employee health and wellbeing. RTITB’s Bronze accreditation followed a thorough assessment process, including staff surveys, interviews with team members across all levels, and a deep dive into the company’s wellbeing practices.
The findings were clear that RTITB takes positive action on health and wellbeing. Employees described a workplace where wellbeing is more than a policy, it’s a priority. One team member shared that RTITB is committed to “making sure you are at your best and the healthiest you could be at work.”
This culture of care is backed by action. RTITB has signed the Mind UK ‘Mental Health at Work Commitment’, and offers access to trained Mental Health First Aiders, free counselling sessions, and a wide range of mental health resources. Inclusion training is mandatory, helping to create an environment where everyone can thrive.
From flexible working and wellbeing workshops to pet-friendly policies and a rewards programme that celebrates great work, RTITB is an employer where work-life balance is key, and its people feel valued, empowered, and able to progress in their roles.
“We’re incredibly proud of this achievement,” adds Laura. “But more than that, we’re proud of the culture we’ve built. One where people come first. Where we protect our community, and practice what we preach. Because when we take care of our team, they take care of everything else,” says Laura.
A statement from the Thrive at Work assessment reads: “Achieving the Bronze Level Thrive at Work Award shows RTITB’s commitment to implementing effective policies and procedures, good line management, and board-level engagement. You have provided accurate and appropriate information to enable employees to make healthier choices in a variety of subjects around health and wellbeing. Congratulations!”
