Manual Handling in Transport
Our manual handling in transport, warehousing and logistics course will give your team the skills to assess the risks associated with a manual handling task and the approach to take to minimise those risks.
Delivered by the UK’s best Instructors, who all come with real world transport and logistics experience, we provide the highest quality RTITB Instructor and Assessor training courses – at our dedicated training Academy in Telford, UK, on your site, or via remote videoconferencing software. What is a remote Instructor course? Find out more here.
All candidates must successfully complete an independent examination to qualify as an RTITB Instructor – an internationally recognised qualification.
We know transport and storage has the second highest handling injury rate of all industries. On our course your team will be trained in the specific risks that generic manual handling courses don’t adequately address to help prevent your people becoming another handling injury statistic.
The course covers:
- What manual handling is and why it is so important to follow correct procedure
- The anatomy of the spine and human movement
- Risk assessments
- Manual handling techniques
- Pushing and pulling techniques and risks (if required)
- Manual handling of pallets
Course Durations (for up to 8 candidates):
- Novice: 7.5 hours
- Refresher: 7.5 hours
The course is assessed at the end and candidates are required to complete a theory test, a pre-lift assessment and a lift (if safe to do so) in order to succesfully complete the course and obtain an RTITB accredited certificate. There is a maximum of 8 people allowed on the course and it can be delivered on your premises or at our Instructor Academy in Telford, Shropshire (near Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton). The course is £758+VAT (equivalent to £94.75 per person if you train 8 members of your team). There is no charge for travel and subsistence if we deliver the course on your site.
