RTITB’s Manual Handling in Transport, Warehousing & Logistics eLearning course has been designed to provide learners with an interactive learning experience that introduces them to the fundamentals of safe manual handling in the workplace. Where other courses might focus only on the mechanics of good technique, this eLearning course takes a deeper, holistic approach to cover those core skills and more for those operating in warehouses, yards, supply chain and logistics operations, distribution centres, and similar environments.
Learners are introduced to the musculoskeletal system, the physical impact of poor handling, personal capability, and the thinking behind task assessment, risk identification and risk reduction. Written with the industry in mind, Manual Handling in Transport, Warehousing and Logistics provides anybody who manually lifts goods or pushes/pulls equipment in the workplace with a fundamental understanding of the task. The term ‘manual handling’ covers a wide range of operations across a number or sectors. For this reason, this eLearning course focuses largely on the fundamentals of individual capability, risk and assessment, and basic handling techniques. The knowledge will empower learners to make their own informed decisions about how to handle any task they encounter. Learners will also be able to understand and discuss what manual handling means in the context of the regulations, and identify problematic manual handling situations in a transport, warehousing and logistics workplace environment.
