All candidates must successfully complete an independent examination to qualify as an RTITB Instructor – an internationally recognised qualification.
By the end of the course candidates will:
- Be able to plan and deliver training
- Be able to recall and discuss the responsibilities of an instructor
- Be able to develop a lesson plan that meets training objectives
This course is suitable for candidates who:
- Have good communication skills
- Have excellent working knowledge of the industry they wish to instruct in
- Have good literacy and numeracy skills
- Have the confidence to present to large and small groups of their peers
Overview

The Industrial and Commercial Instructor course concludes with an objective examination carried out by an RTITB examiner. All elements of the examination must be passed in order to successfully qualify as an RTITB instructor. Achieving an RTITB instructor qualification is something to be truly proud of. Successful candidates are eligible to register on the RTITB Register of Professional Instructors.

This course is for RTITB registered instructors who attended RTITB’s Industrial and Commercial instructor course post April 2013 and who need to re-register their qualification. Anyone who attended an RTITB Industrial and Commercial instructor course pre- April 2013 will need to complete an intial course to re-register.

Examination
To pass this course you will need to pass all three parts of the examination:
1. A written examination – a question paper made up of multiple-choice and ‘open’ questions
2. Assessed lesson plan – develop a clear and coherent lesson plan as part of your assessed instructional session, this will be examined and scored as part of the overall examination
3. Assessed instructional session – present a short instructional session (40 minutes) on the topic of your choice, this will be assessed and scored as part of the overall examination
